- + Key factors for mode of action of BotaniGard® ES against insect pests
-
- The mode of action of BotaniGard® ES begins with the attachment of spores of fungus Beauveria bassiana to insect hosts.
- When the BotaniGard® ES containing spores of fungus Beauveria bassiana strain GHA applied in the fields, greenhouse pots or nurseries, spores will attach to the body of insect hosts that are present in the soil.
- The attached spores of fungus strain GHA will then germinate and start producing enzymes that will dissolve the cuticle of insect hosts. Then germinated hyphae will easily penetrate into the insect body where it will grow rapidly and kill the insect host within a short period of time.
- + Rates of application of BotaniGard® ES in the greenhouses, fields, gardens and nurseries?
-
The optimum concentrations of BotaniGard® ES in spay solution for the effective control of different insect pests is 2-6 tbsps/gallons of water or 3 quarts/100 gallons of water.
- Apply 100 gallons of BotaniGard® ES suspension for optimum coverage of 2000 to 5000 sq.ft. of surface area. For recommended rates for different types of insects and their host crop, please read BotaniGard® ES label at a link provided below
